The Student Enrichment Opportunities Office is pleased to announce that it has received an additional $11.7 million grant from the Genentech Foundation for its Genentech Foundation Scholars Program to train the next generation of life science leaders. More info HERE.
CoSE received a $10.5M grant from the Genentech Foundation in 2019 for life sciences student training programs! There is more information about the Genentech Foundation HERE.
Purpose of the scholarships: To prepare students from underrepresented groups, first generation college students, and students with disabilities for biomedical careers by providing academic support and a stimulating research experience. The goal of the program is to prepare each participant for entrance into a competitive graduate program and successful completion of a PhD in the biomedical or physical sciences, or an MD, DDS or DVM degree.
Genentech Foundation Scholars Stipends
SEO Genentech Founation Scholarships are disbursed through a monthly stipend. Stipend checks are mailed to your address on file during the first or second week of each month. Coming soon: Direct Deposit for Genentech checks!
Graduate School Application Fee Waivers
For Genentech Foundation Scholars, the scholarship may be able to reimburse you for up to $500 in graduate school application fees after you have requested a fee waiver first and been denied. Show your list of graduate schools to Professor Frank Bayliss for approval.
